Our Story

Garden of Grace began as a much smaller idea than the business it is becoming today. At first, I simply wanted to share beautiful accessories and jewelry made with real Colombian flowers and botanicals, created by a Christian friend from my home country. I loved the thought that something grown in Colombia could be preserved and carried into another person’s life with meaning. I thought perhaps that would be the whole story. But God had a much larger one in mind.

My own journey had already taken me farther than I ever imagined. I came to the United States from Colombia, met the man who would become my husband through Facebook, and built a life with him here. Years later, we welcomed our first baby. During my pregnancy, my husband lost his job, and suddenly a season that should have felt secure became deeply uncertain. We were paying for a beautiful home in Virginia, I continued working while studying Strategic Communications at Liberty University, and he searched for the next opportunity. Through those months, Christ met us through the prayers and generosity of family, friends, our church, and people in different parts of the world. We learned again that our provision was never only about what we could control. It was about trusting God one day at a time.

After our son was born, our priorities began to change. I had loved writing since I was a little girl, and I found myself returning to that part of who God made me to be. Today I am even working on a book. At the same time, life remained unpredictable. I broke my foot and spent months in a wheelchair, and our little family had to learn how to receive help, slow down, and depend on one another. Those seasons did not make us feel as though we had all the answers. They made us more aware of grace, of how Christ carries us through ordinary people, through prayer, through family, and through moments we never would have chosen for ourselves.

When I was finally able to travel again, I returned to Colombia with my family and visited the coffee region. There I was able to spend time with the Christian friend whose botanical work had first inspired the business and who would become one of our closest manufacturing partners. Seeing the craftsmanship, the flowers, the landscape, and the hands behind the pieces in person changed the way I saw Garden of Grace. What began as a small idea for Colombian botanical accessories no longer felt like the end goal. It felt like a seed.

Since then, Garden of Grace has grown with us. Jewelry opened the door to accessories, journals, books, gifts, products inspired by faith, Spanish products, and ideas we had never planned at the beginning. Some pieces are handcrafted in Colombia, some are designed by us, and some are born from words I have written, but we want the heart behind them to remain the same: beauty with meaning, creativity rooted in faith, and work that honors where we come from. This is a family business, and we hope customers can feel that, not because everything is perfect, but because there is a real family, a real story, and real prayer behind what we are building.

Because our family and our story belong to both Colombia and the United States, bilingual content is also an important part of Garden of Grace. We want to create in both English and Spanish so that faith, encouragement, writing, and meaningful products can reach families across cultures and countries. For us, using both languages is not simply a feature of the store. It is part of who we are, part of the bridge between where I came from and the home we are building together now.

Ultimately, we do not want Garden of Grace to point only to us. We want it to point back to Christ. Our hope is to build a business that allows us to be more present as parents, to raise our children with intention, and to steward the gifts and opportunities God has given us faithfully. For us, success would mean far more than simply building a sustainable business. It would mean creating a life in which our family can stay close, our children can grow up knowing that faith and purpose belong in the everyday work of our hands, and what God entrusts to Garden of Grace can become a way of serving others by supporting churches, missionaries, ministries, and nonprofit organizations that reflect the love of Christ and care for people in communities around the world, especially in countries and places like the one I came from.

Garden of Grace was born from Colombia, shaped through our life in the United States, and carried through seasons we never could have planned. We do not know exactly how far this business will go, but we know Who we want to follow as we build it. Our prayer is that every new chapter would be led by Christ, grounded in family, marked by generosity, and filled with the kind of grace that has carried us this far.
